Intelligence and guidance for tech organizations seeking sustainability in a riskier world

What we do

Tracking material and economic dependencies of the digital sector
We get our hands dirty to offer a material vision, grounded in reality. From the digital sector’s demand for metals to the development of data centers and semiconductor foundries, we enhance knowledge and transparency in an opaque industry and identify early warning signs.

Assessing environmental, social and economic impacts and risks of digitalization
We are science-based and future-looking. We are leading experts in the environmental assessment of digital solutions and artificial intelligence. We assess the current and future consequences and impacts of digital deployment and its compatibility with the challenges of the century.

Guiding leaders and organizations to make future-ready decisions
Knowing better does not mean we can act accordingly. We coach leaders—both individually and as a group— to translate the cutting-edge insights we provide into concrete actions that transform organizations and align them with the new material realities.
Navigate complexity and uncertainty with science-based, open knowledge and tailor-made coaching
Latest case studies

Assessing net economic and environmental impacts of AI-powered microgrids up to 2035 with Schneider Electric
Working closely with teams at Schneider Electric, we analysed the economic and environmental impacts of 11 AI-controlled microgrid sites between 2023 and 2035. The results offer a unique – and surprising – insight into the true potential of these solutions to support the energy transition.

Building a Responsible Digital for the communication team of the Metropolis of Rennes
Rennes Metropolis communications department initially commissioned Hubblo to carry out a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its digital communications tools. From this LCA we develop a Responsible Digital Strategy, coaching the communications department on the integration of their novel strategy.
Latest resources and tools

Open-source GPU embedded impacts calculator
We have developed the first parametric calculator to assess the environmental impacts of manufacturing graphics cards (Nvidia A100, H100, GH200, etc.), in collaboration with Tide.

DCWatch – Open database to map data centers worldwide
DCWatch is a collaborative research project aimed at mapping the current state and expansion of data centers worldwide, as well as their past, present and future social and environmental impacts.

DC Footprint – Data center environmental footprint calculator
DCFootprint enables the estimation of the environmental footprint of a data center and the services it provides, by combining standard models and methodologies to speed up the assessment process.
Latest research
We tackle complex questions and are constantly striving to enhance our own knowledge, that of our research communities, and that of our clients. We regularly publish pioneering articles across a wide range of disciplines, including environmental sciences, computer science, economics, management, and the humanities and social sciences.
